Event MC
Elevate your event to the next level with the energy, professionalism, and charisma that an Event MC can bring.
I can help you host a wide range of events, including weddings, corporate functions, charity galas, award ceremonies, and everything in between. I understand that each event is unique, and will take the time to tailor my approach to your specific needs and vision.
From the moment your guests arrive until the final farewell, I will be the guiding force, seamlessly transitioning between different segments, introducing speakers, and keeping the energy high. With impeccable timing, a clear and confident voice, and a knack for connecting with the audience, I will captivate your guests and create an atmosphere of excitement and engagement.
If you think an MC would be great for your event, give me a call and we can discuss!
Why you should use an MC.
MCs will bring their passion and expertise to your event, leaving you free to enjoy the occasion and make lasting memories with your guests.
-
An MC is the host of your event, advising the audience of all things important. Initially the house keeping. Where are the toilets, emergency exit, phones on silent, when will dinner be served and if appropriate at what stage in the event can you dance.
The next role is to set the scene for your event. Introduction the purpose of the day, the significant people. It is great if they know a bit of the history behind the story. Explain the significance of any speakers, why they are important in your event, a cheeky story if they have it.
-
The MC is your go to person for your event. Seamlessly co-ordinating the event so you don’t have to stress. They need to know how you want your event to run, have connections with photography, DJ, catering and you. Then co-ordinate with all of them to make the event run smoothly.
An MC does most of their work before the event. They need to be briefed on how you want the celebration to run, and introduced to all the key steak holders and family and friends. The smooth calm person that you see on stage for a short time is the result of many hours of preparation.
-
Many people choose to use a family or friends to take on the role of MC. Often the funny friend who makes people laugh. Have caution in who you choose. It is not uncommon for them to add their own element to the proceedings. They may not have confidence in public speaking to numbers, may possibly get caught up with the celebrations on the day and not perform the role with professionalism.
-
The celebrant who performed your ceremony may be a good choice for the role of MC. They are familiar with the key themes of the event, the people celebrating, the important family and friends. Working closely with you to develop your celebration has given them an understanding of your story, beliefs and values. They know what is important to you. The continuity of using the same person as celebrant and MC is that all parties know who to liaise with, and allows for a consistency in professionalism, tone and formality.
