I am English. Born in Liverpool and brought up around the Cotswold's. I came to Australia to see a friend more than 35 years ago. A husband, 2 children, a home and an amazing community later... I am staying!
Community and gatherings are said to be a part of my soul. I have never been shy of organizing an event for the mums and dads as we huddled to keep warm or cool at kids' sport. I have hosted many events at home or at a local venue making memories with our families and friends as we navigate parenthood.
For over 30 years I have worked as a Community Health Physiotherapist. This has given me the opportunity to work with some amazing communities such as the elderly, non-English speaking, LGBTQI, young families and those who have experienced and are living through trauma.
I never shy away from the opportunity to do public speaking. I have been frequently called upon to officiate social events at work, speak at community events and MC at the school. In feedback, I am recognised for my ability to manage any audience using vocal control and humour. My public speaking skills led me to be an MC at a nieces wedding, and to organize and speak a eulogy at a gathering in honor of a colleague.
I was never going to just sit at home when I retired from work. I need the excitement of bringing people together to get me up in the morning. Thanks to the Unleashed Collective, I am now a Celebrant and look forward to being an officiant at events.
